Aims of Module
The course aims to support individuals from under-represented groups in their desire to pursue university education.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate an understanding of what is required to make a successful transition from school to university
2 Identify personal strengths and skills developed to support university transition
3 Identify university pathways relevant to personal aspirations

Indicative Module Content
Writing and structuring a personal statement. Career options and pathways. Skills and qualities for school to university transition. Introduction to university level study. Introduction to University life. University course options.

Module Delivery
The course will be delivered through a combination of workshops and self-study. Students will attend an Access To course specific to their chosen subject area as well as attending additional group and one to one sessions as part of the Access Plus course. In addition, students will be expected to undertake self-directed study to reflect on their learning and complete and submit assessments.

Both components of assessment will be marked separately and a pass or fail grade awarded based on the 'Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade' as detailed below.
Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
Pass A pass mark much be achieved in each component to achieve a pass grade in the course.
Fail If a pass mark is not achieved in one or both components then a fail grade will be awarded.
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination
