| On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
| 1 | Take responsibility for practical computing tasks in a workplace using existing technical skills. |
| 2 | Solve practical computing tasks in a workplace using newly acquired technical skills. |

| Indicative Module Content |

| This module is based on a placement at an external organisation. The student will be given the opportunity to improve both their technical and soft skills through working within the organisation. However, the exact nature of this will vary widely depending on the type of organisation hosting the student and the role undertaken by the student within that organisation. |

| Students work in an external organisation for 30-45 weeks. Each student has a member of academic staff acting as an Academic Tutor to provide any necessary support and oversight. |

| Description: | A portfolio of evidence appraising the success of the placement, which is made up of two parts. The first part comprises a number of reports by the student's Industrial Supervisor and/or Academic Tutor detailing the perceived performance of the student during the placement. The second part is a report by the student, describing what they have achieved on the placement and reflecting on how it has benefitted them. | ||||
