Aims of Module
To provide the student with an opportunity to evidence their personal development, and critically reflect on the impact of their placement year on their own progress and future employability.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Illustrate the ability to reflect on existing abilities and knowledge.
2 Communicate the technical skills required by the computing industry.
3 Critique the soft skills required for success in a modern workplace or study abroad.
4 Compose measurable and actionable plans to achieve objectives appropriate to placement or study abroad.
5 Critique own performance against defined objectives.

Indicative Module Content
This module runs in conjunction with relevant placement modules (CM4305, CM4306, CM4307, CM4308, CM4309, CM4310) and is intended as a vehicle for students to evidence how their placement has helped them develop both academically and professionally. Content will be provided through an online learning environment with examples of personal development planning, and aspects of reflective writing.

Description: During their placement the students will be required to submit a number of reports in which they identify their development needs, set their own objectives and reflect on their progress towards meeting these objectives.

The calculation of the overall grade for this module is based on 100% weighting of a single coursework. An overall minimum grade D is required to pass the module.
