Aims of Module
To provide students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and understanding as well as the personal transferable skills acquired during the course in the real-world environment of work. Students will get the opportunity to experience a different working culture, as offered by the host institution.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate the necessary technical, planning, professional and communication skills.
2 Apply the theories, models, concepts and principles acquired during the course to the workplace.
3 Gain and reflect upon the practical skills appropriate to the mission of the host organisation.
4 Recognise their own strengths and weaknesses as a potential computing specialist according to the chosen degree path.

Indicative Module Content
The content of the work placement will vary with the host company. However, the student will draw up an agreed learning and working contract with the host institution and thus devise a programme, which will enable the Learning Outcomes to be achieved.

Module Delivery
Supervised placement within a host company by means of on-the-job training. Furthermore, students may be required to attend specific training sessions or staff development workshops as designated by the host institution.

Explanatory Text
To pass the module, all coursework elements must be submitted and marked to a satisfactory level in line with the learning outcomes. A pass must be achieved in all coursework elements for credit to be awarded.
Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
Pass The student needs to achieve a Pass in C1
Fail The student needs to Fail C1.
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination
