Aims of Module
The module aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain academic credit through learning applied in a variety of settings. The module will enable students to identify their learning needs and negotiate learning to develop skills or strategies that aim to push boundaries and pioneer change in the workplace, placement, or independent learning setting. Students will be required to evidence and reflect on workplace, placement, or independent learning setting based learning and professional development.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Rate their own personal development needs in relation to their selected workplace or placement or independent learning setting.
2 Use a personal development plan to improve personal development needs and strengths.
3 Show the ability to act professionally in line with their chosen workplace, placement, or independent learning setting.
4 Report on real or potential solutions to challenges in the workplace, placement, or independent learning setting from research-based evidence.

Indicative Module Content
Students will be largely responsible for organising their own learning. Guidance and tutorial support will be given to develop a learning plan which will require the formation of personal learning outcomes, details on how the learning experiences will be gained and the assessment plan and methods.

Module Delivery
The module is delivered in Blended Learning mode using structured online learning materials/activities and directed study, facilitated by regular online tutor or mentor support. The module will primarily be student-led delivery with support from appropriate staff. Students will negotiate their topic and develop a learning plan for completion of the module.
