Aims of Module
To enable the student to develop and apply skills and knowledge gained via the course of study to their professional practice and to reflect upon the experience critically.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Appraise critically and demonstrate an evaluative appreciation of the implementation of professional theories and principles in the working environment.
2 Demonstrate a critical understanding of the role of the professional.
3 To apply skills assessment and profiling tools to identify strengths and development areas for personal development and to produce a Personal Development Plan (PDP).

Indicative Module Content
Workplace mentoring project relevant to the course of study and to the student’s employer; live-client project, Career Objective Setting; Personal Development Planning

Module Delivery
Part-time students with full-time employment: One-to-one tutor support from academic staff during the project period through face-to-face discussion forums combined with computer-mediated sessions.
