Aims of Module
This module will enable students to understand how global leadership strategies achieve global competitive advantage and the impact that all forms of socio-economic diversity have on global leadership effectiveness.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate an understanding of culture clusters and analyse the associated leadership behaviours.
2 Understand and critically evaluate examples of the core competencies and acumen necessary for successful global leadership.
3 Evaluate global leadership development plans and their implications for future global leaders and leadership succession.
4 Demonstrate how acquiring individual life skills, particularly communicating effectively in a global team, may lead to the success of an organisation.

Indicative Module Content
Students will first be introduced to the various leadership styles, learn about personal traits and how these may help them positively contribute in a global environment. They will then learn about different leadership strategies and their implementation within an organization. Through appreciative enquiry, the module will furthermore explore current global business leaders, typical global organisations and their cultures and diversity challenges in the workplace in order to develop a global mind set and world view.

The module will be taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials and student-led activities, including a variety of case studies.
