Aims of Module
The module provides learners with an understanding of the importance of change management strategies in the hospitality sector. It prepares learners to appreciate the challenges of driving innovation in the hospitality and service sector.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate a critical understanding of change management strategies in the service sector.
2 Argue the importance of innovation for business competitiveness in the hospitality industry.
3 Develop skills to overcome stakeholder resistance to change.
4 Skillfully apply innovation initiatives that are impactful and sustainable.

Indicative Module Content
Change process, change strategies, change resistance, innovation management, driving innovation, innovation trends, competitive advantage, impactful change management, sustainable change management. This module engages students with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 9 through the exploration of inclusive and sustainable business development in the hospitality sector. It also engages students with UNESCO's Education for Sustainable Development System-thinking competency in terms of recognising the inter-relationships between a variety of organisational and soceital systems and opportunities for positive change.

Module Delivery
Core concepts delivered through lectures and supporting tutorials. Significant focus on active discussion throughout delivery of concepts. Industry guest lectures where possible.
