Aims of Module
The aim of this module is to enable students to develop knowledge and understanding of the application and value of data quality and governance standards, policies and strategies.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically analyse the organisational roles, business rules, standards, policies and strategies for data quality, integrity, governance and security and the value of these for the business.
2 Evaluate the systems and procedures for recording, checking and assuring the integrity and quality of different data types to minimise risks and resolve problems.
3 Evaluate and convey the policies, systems and behaviour required to protect data.
4 Describe data quality tools, the systems that store data types and the interconnection between systems (data architecture) which enable business processes and workflows to function efficiently.
5 Critically analyse the challenges of implementing a data governance framework within the business and effective measures to maintain the success of the framework.
