Aims of Module | |||

The aim of this module is to enable students to develop knowledge and understanding of the application and value of data quality and governance standards, policies and strategies. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |
---|---|
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Critically analyse the organisational roles, business rules, standards, policies and strategies for data quality, integrity, governance and security and the value of these for the business. |
2 | Evaluate the systems and procedures for recording, checking and assuring the integrity and quality of different data types to minimise risks and resolve problems. |
3 | Evaluate and convey the policies, systems and behaviour required to protect data. |
4 | Describe data quality tools, the systems that store data types and the interconnection between systems (data architecture) which enable business processes and workflows to function efficiently. |
5 | Critically analyse the challenges of implementing a data governance framework within the business and effective measures to maintain the success of the framework. |
