Aims of Module
To provide the student with an understanding of key management and leadership theories and an understanding of their own relevant strengths, weaknesses and experiences.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Appraise management and leadership theories in the context of an appropriate industry sector.
2 Identify and discuss the key People issues facing in the selected sector.
3 Critically review and evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses as potential managers within their chosen industry and sector.

Indicative Module Content
Management theories, leadership theories, sector challenges related to management, managing absence, diversity, equality, stress and the importance of work-life balance, consumer behaviour, future proofing business ideas, entrepreneurship, innovation, personal strengths and weaknesses
