Aims of Module
To enable students to demonstrate the theoretical understanding and practical application of narrative filmmaking skills.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Apply practical skills and techniques to produce a narrative film project in an industry authentic environment.
2 Demonstrate critical synthesis between theory and practice in relation to the methods of creative concept generation and intended audience/markets.
3 Demonstrate and apply understanding of the key stages of narrative filmmaking including screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography and editing.
4 Develop team working skills in collaborating effectively with peers.

Indicative Module Content
The taught content will be comprised of lectures, labs, guest speakers and digital online classes and exercises. This module will offer students the chance to be hands-on in narrative film production and work in an assigned production role alongside their peers in collectively producing a short narrative film project. The module will deliver the teaching of the various stages of creative/narrative filmmaking such as concept development, screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography and editing. It is envisaged that this will be a "learn by doing" experience and one where the student will get an accurate experience of what is expected in this industry as part of a collective creative unit.

Module Delivery
This module will be delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, hands-on workshops and guest speakers. The content of the classes will be structured in a way that best accommodates the actual process of the visual project production stages.
