Aims of Module
To provide students with the ability to produce feature articles appropriate to newspaper and magazine publications.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 To develop professional practice in gathering material through interview, observation and documentary sources.
2 To acquire advanced skills in feature intro writing and structuring.
3 To apply feature writing approaches to producing an extended profile article.

Indicative Module Content
This module approaches feature writing as a product of language, material gathering, observation, interviewing, structuring and the use of quotations from live and documentary sources. It explores models of feature writing and applies them in practical workshops. The module engages students with UNESCO's Education for Sustainable Development Collaboration, Self-awareness and Integrated problem solving through group work tasks, engaging with interviewees and researching original story ideas.
