Aims of Module
The aim of the module is to provide students with the opportunity to integrate Masters level knowledge and skills by independently producing a project on an appropriate topic from a degree related discipline.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Conduct an independent project based on an area appropriate to degree discipline.
2 Critically review available literature, research and knowledge to establish a clear academic context for the project.
3 Critically discuss the project outcomes in relation to academic and practical considerations in an appropriate, ethical and professionally oriented manner.
4 Critically apply relevant theories, methods, concepts and debates.
5 Reflect on the research process, displaying awareness both of the limitations of the project and any attendant ethical issues.

Indicative Module Content
Students will work independently to produce an extended research proposal or a consultancy project (for those in a workplace where a suitable project is available).

Self-directed study, learning and research, guidance on the skills required to complete the task and supported by an academic supervisor.
