Aims of Module
To provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate knowledge and professional competence in the technical implementation of a project addressing a commercial business issue.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Formulate a project proposal establishing the rationale for addressing the specific business issue/need and creation of a project management plan.
2 Demonstrate both primary and secondary research skills and the ability to apply Project Management methodology to a research project
3 Execute and deliver of project objectives.
4 Present recommendations from the technical implementation including post project review and lessons learned.

Indicative Module Content
The module requires students to undertake an applied consultancy project using business research methods and practice, negotiating a scope of work, developing a research proposal, data collection and analysis, preparing a consulting report.

Module Delivery
This module is completed through independent work. To support the student an academic supervisor is allocated who through a number of negotiated tutorial sessions will guide and advise the student through their progression of the applied project process.

Component 1
Type: Coursework Weighting: 100% Outcomes Assessed: 1, 2, 3, 4
Description: Students are required to submit a project consultancy report in the style of a handover report detailing the initiation, planning and execution of the project undertaken including reference to lessons learned.
