| 1 | Develop an awareness of the content and effect of key provisions of contractual arrangements commonly encountered in the construction sector which may include mechanisms, such as statutory adjudication, which apply by operation of law. |
| 2 | Critically assess key problem issues relating to contractual arrangements commonly encountered in the construction industry. |

| Old and new standard forms of construction contracts; suspension and termination; delay and causation; retention, liquidated damages and set-off; adjudication; sub-contracting; bonds and guarantees; assignment and novation; procurement, partnering and alliancing. |
