Aims of Module
To enable students to evaluate leadership theory and practice, and to critically analyse how effective leadership behaviour can influence organisational performance.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically analyse the theories and concepts of leadership and their application in organisations.
2 Examine leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills in different organisational, cultural and international contexts.
3 Evaluate a range of factors which impact on leadership effectiveness.
4 Critique leadership impact on organisational performance.

Leadership theories; leadership styles, skills, effects and principles; power sources and use; organisational leader case studies; leadership development; team leading; creating and sustaining leadership; cross-cultural leadership; leadership contexts; safety leadership; ethical and sustainable leadership; atypical leadership; the future of leadership
