Aims of Module
To foster a substantive, contextual and critical understanding of the leading international governmental organisations and their wider impact.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Critically evaluate the workings and role of the pre-eminent international governmental organisations.
2 Appraise the underlying political and economic influences affecting international governmental organisations.
3 Evaluate the practical effect international governmental organisations have on nation-states, international relations and sustainable international business.

Indicative Module Content
The module examines the nature and impact of the pre-eminent international governmental organisations. These include the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation, the World Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund, NATO and the EUropean Union.

Module Delivery
The module will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, group discussions and directed reading/research.
