Aims of Module
To provide students with the opportunity to undertake a piece of supervised, indpendent research into a topic of their own choice from the subject areas related to their degree specialism.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Conduct a comprehensive subject specific literature search.
2 Communicate effectively within a well structured literature review.
3 Synthesise arguments and ideas in a manner which displays critical appraisal of their chosen topic.
4 Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Indicative Module Content
Setting aims and objectives in a literature review; selection of an appropriate subject specific topic; how to work with an academic supervisor; literature searching techniques.

Module Delivery
This module will be delivered online with recorded lecture material and introductory online classes. Further support will be provided through forum posts and students will be allocated a supervisor relevant to their topic choice.
