Aims of Module
1. To advance students' understanding of foreign or international substantive law or foreign or international legal/business practice, covering material distinct from that in the Studying Law Abroad 1, 2 and 3 modules, while studying in a partner University abroad. 2. To advance students' knowledge of a foreign/international legal/business culture. 3. To gain a deeper understanding of a foreign/international legal/business environment.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Demonstrate an understanding of a substantive foreign/internatinal law, legal practice or business practice or related subject taught in a foreign University at SCQF9 level or equivalent.
2 Recognise and discuss foreign/international legal/business culture or practice.
3 Critically appraise the political, socio-cultural economic and technological environment influencing law or business or the practice of law or business in the wider foreign/international environment.

Description: The assessment plan will vary according to the host institution. Assessment could be any one of, or combination of, coursework, examination, oral assessment or practical assessment as designated by the host institution. The result is recorded as one component, with 100% weighting.

MODULE PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTOR
Explanatory Text
The module is assessed by the host study abroad institution. This will vary according to the institution - students should seek the guidance of the Course/Programme Leader (or equivalent) at the host institution to identify assessment instruments. Host institutions will provide transcripts for the relevant number of modules undertaken during the study abroad period. Students will be expected to pass the module at the level specified at the host institution. Any grade or mark at the host institution at pass level or above will be recorded as 'P' (Pass). Any grade or mark at the host institution at less than pass level will be recorded as 'U' (Unsuccessful). Actual grades/marks and the relevant ECTS or local credits will be provided to the student via a transcript provided by the host institution.
Module Grade Minimum Requirements to achieve Module Grade:
Pass Any grade or mark at the host institution at pass level or above.
Fail Any grade or mark at the host institution at less than pass level.
NS Non-submission of work by published deadline or non-attendance for examination

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Students will join cohorts in foreign Universities which are at SCQF9 level or equivalent. This module will normally be delivered in English.
