Aims of Module
To enable the student to reflect deeply on the experience of Study Abroad and provide a portfolio of outputs which reflect the educational and cultural value of Study Abroad.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Produce a critical review of relevant nominated output relating to the host study abroad institution.
2 Evaluate the study abroad experience, including self-development in academic and cultural terms.
3 Appraise the experience and explain how it has benefitted the individual
4 Prioritise future skills that should be acquired to maximise employability based on the study abroad experience.

Indicative Module Content
This module will focus on international and cultural business theories within the context of the Study Abroad experience. Cultural theoretical frameworks including Hofstede and Trompenaar will be examined and the student will be required to reflect critically on their period of time in a different cultural context in relation to such theories.

Module Delivery
This is a student-centred, self-directed module. The student will work independently and produce output within a given time frame. Academic support will be provided by the module co-ordinator or nominee.

This module is only available to RGU students who have fully completed a Study Abroad period as part of their full-time course, but have been unable to gain the relevant amount SCQF / ECTS equivalent points.
