Aims of Module
To introduce students to the structure and principles underpinning the operational functions of the organisation, their efficient management and effective interaction in enabling the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.
Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
||Discuss the different types of structures that an organisation may adopt and discuss relationships between internal and external sources of governance, regulation and professional behaviour.|
||Discuss the purpose of the finance function and its relationship with other parts of the organisation and explain how the finance function supports the organisation's strategies and operations.|
||Demonstrate the purpose of the technology and information function and its relationships with other parts of the organisation and explain how information systems support the organisation's strategies and operations.|
||Demonstrate the purpose of the operations function and its relationships with other parts of the organisation and apply tools and techniques of operations management.|
||Demonstrate the purpose of the marketing function and its relationships with other parts of the organisation and apply tools and techniques to formulate the organisation's marketing strategies, including the collection, analysis and application of Big Data.|
