Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
The aims of this module are; To enable a student who has studied abroad as part of their full-time undergraduate degree programme, to gain requisite credits where this has not been viable at the host institution. To enable the student to reflect deeply on the experience of Study Abroad and provide a portfolio of outputs which reflect the educational and cultural value of Study Abroad. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Produce a balanced critique of relevant nominated output relating to the host study abroad institution. |
2 | Reflect appropriately on the study abroad experience, including self-development in academic and cultural terms. |
3 | Provide recommendations on how the experience has benefitted the individual and may benefit the home institution |
4 | Where appropriate, provide useful information to other students considering Study Abroad at the nominated host institution. This may include language preparation. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
A student with more than 4.5 ECTS outstanding will produce a series of outputs suitable for an e-platform, which demonstrate deep reflection and understanding of the benefits of the Study Abroad experience. Output may consist of, but is not limited to; essays, presentations, critiques, fact sheets and guides. A student with 0.5 to 4.0 ECTS outstanding will produce a reflective essay |
Module Delivery |

This is a student-centred, self-directed module. The student will work independently and produce output within a given time frame. Academic support will be provided by the module co-ordinator or nominee. Initial briefings and a mid module review meetings with an Academic will be compulsory. All other meetings will be at the request of the student, to be held at mutually convenient times. |

ADDITIONAL NOTES |
---|
This module is only available to Law School students who have fully completed a Study Abroad period as part of their full-time course, but have been unable to gain the full amount (30 or 60) of ECTS due to genuine mitigating circumstances, where the host institution has been unable to provide sufficient appropriate courses, resit opportunities are not offered by the host institution or are not accessible to students for logistical reasons. |
