Aims of Module | |||
---|---|---|---|
The aim of this module is to provide an understanding of the principles and practices of Business Operations. To develop the student's knowledge of the concepts, systems and strategies relevant to business operations management and develop an ability to analyse and solve problems associated with operational environments. |

2 | Evaluate the concepts, systems and strategies relevant to supply chain management. |
3 | Develop an awareness and understanding of the principles of procurement. |
4 | Develop an awareness and understanding of the principles of supply chain management |
5 | Convey the nature and rationale for collaboration in the supply chain process. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
The role and function of business operations, manufacturing and service operations, operations strategy, quality management, supply chain management, logistics, capacity, inventory, improvement and measurement techniques, collaboration, just in time, planning and control systems, design, facility location and layout. |

This module is delivered in supported online distance learning mode using a range of structured learning materials/activities and directed study, facilitated by regular online tutor contact, allowing students to contextualise their learning to their own workplace where appropriate. |
