| 1 | Evaluate critically research in currently advancing aspects of nutrition. |
| 2 | Discuss the role of nutrient-gene interactions in the determination of health and disease, from molecular mechanisms to whole body metabolism. |
| 3 | Discuss the importance of the research process to advancing nutritional science and its application. |
| Indicative Module Content |

| The syllabus is flexible and dependent on what areas have contemporary interest. Examples include nutrient-gene interactions, regulation of food intake, and sports nutrition incorporating research related to staff interests presented in sufficient depth to provide insight into the research process. |

| C | A mark for C1 between 50 and 59%. |
