Aims of Module
To provide students with the ability to carry out a systematic literature review on a nutritional, dietary or food-related topic and make conclusions and recommendations.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Execute a literature search strategy using appropriate methods.
2 Summarise key methods and results of published work appropriately.
3 Critically evaluate published literature.
4 Discuss the key findings in the broader context of current knowledge on the topic.

Indicative Module Content
Students can choose from themed areas relating to contemporary issues in nutrition and food science. Each student will have specific objectives to be addressed in a student-centered study. Each student will have individual guidance sessions with his/her tutor.

Module Delivery
This is a student-centred module supported by online lectures and telephone, skype or email contact with the tutor whilst students are on placement. When students return to campus they will be supported by face-to-face tutorials.
