Aims of Module | |||

The aim of this module is to provide the student with a detailed understanding of professional business practice within his or her own chosen area of photography. This module will focus on providing the student with the knowledge and skills to produce a personal business entry strategy portfolio covering all relevant current business practices. |

Indicative Module Content |
---|
This module is designed to investigate a personal business strategy through thorough research methods. To understand the implications of sound financial planning, costing and charging. To develop an appropriate marketing strategy, investigating various methodologies. To develop key competencies in legal and regularity photographic business requirements. The student will develop their own line of enquiry based on their own choice of business direction and demographic. |
Module Delivery |

A series of workshops will set out the relevant knowledge and skills that need to be developed by the individual. The workshops will present an overview of the photographic industry including business models, finance, marketing and legal requirements. The teaching is aimed at encouraging the student to develop a personal business strategy through research and investigation in to their elected specialism. Group critiques will provide an environment to discuss the strategy and to gain formative feedback from peers and tutor. Visiting practitioners will bring professional understanding from industry. Seminars will discuss student practice in the context of the wider profession. |
