To enable a period of directed and self-directed study in a national/international educational context hosted by Gray's School of Art. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Undertake a programme of directed Studio and theoretical study, project scheduling and project management. |
2 | Show fluency in the definition, origination, development and resolution of Fine Art or Design practice, that can effectively be produced through making and manufacture. |
3 | Translate Design and/or Fine Art concepts, in writing, orally and visually, using appropriate media within a critical context. |
4 | Show understanding of the relationship between personal creative practice and specialism within a wider professional, historical/contemporary, and international context. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
The module is delivered by Gray's hosting the students who have been accepted to Stage 2 on the Study Abroad international exchange programme. The directed project content is developed and approved by the Host institution, signed and agreed by the student and Home Institution and by Gray's, prior to the student's arrival. Completed project work undertaken during semester 1 or semester 2, should show an awareness and consideration of sustainable themes in a manner appropriate to the context of the discipline. |
Module Delivery |

The module is delivered by the appropriate Gray's Studio department and CCS team. The self-directed and other project content is to be approved by the Home and Host institutions, with academic achievement assessed and the appropriate ECTS credits awarded. Students will be encouraged to use their linguistic skills where English is not their first language. |

Prerequisites for Module | Successful completion of at least to Stage 1 level in Home institution and portfolio submission through the RGU MoveOn application process to the academic standards expected of stage 2 applicants to Gray's/RGU as Host institution for one academic semester. |

ADDITIONAL NOTES |

The student will be guided and advised by staff of their Host department to the most appropriate lecture, seminar, workshops in Studio and Theoretical studies programme of study. On completion, the student's work will be assessed and graded, with up to 30 ECTS credits awarded. The student's Learning Learning Agreement, agreed prior to arrival at Gray's/RGU, will be signed by the student, Home and Host institutions. To pass the semester, a student must achieve 30 ECTS / SCQF 30 which will facilitate full academic recognition by the Host institution . |
