On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Identify attributes, behaviours and mindsets that will enable ownership of their development as an emerging creative professional. |
2 | Recognise resources within and beyond the University that support the development of professionalism and independent thinking. |
3 | Carry out reflective tasks that support a growing recognition of personal development as a creative practitioner. |
4 | Describe foundation level knowledge of the Creative Industries and the their own place within them. |
5 | Convey a foundation level knowledge of sustainability discourses. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
The module outlines the professional skills, knowledge and behaviours that students should begin to acquire at the start of their learning journey into art school, time studying at university level and beyond to a professional creative future. This includes and introduction to the creative industries and sustainable development goals. Group work and project delivery within the studio will support the student to recognise, define and describe transferable skills and behaviours that will enhance your creative practice. Practical inputs from a range of University resources such as the Employability Hub, Study Skills and Entrepreneurship and Innovations Group (EIG) will contribute to learning, and students will begin to become familiar with the infrastructure supporting professional creative practices. Reflective project work should evidence an awareness and consideration of sustainable themes in a manner appropriate to the context of the discipline. The Creative Futures programme supports Studio and CCS modules, creating a reflective conversation about a creative journey. |
