Aims of Module | |||

To provide students with the opportunity to undertake a piece of supervised, indpendent research into a topic of their own choice from the subject areas related to their degree specialism. |
Learning Outcomes for Module | |

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to: | |
1 | Conduct a comprehensive subject specific literature search. |
2 | Communicate effectively within a well structured literature review. |
3 | Synthesise arguments and ideas in a manner which displays critical appraisal of their chosen topic. |
4 | Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. |
Indicative Module Content |
---|
Setting aims and objectives in a literature review; selection of an appropriate subject specific topic; how to work with an academic supervisor; literature searching techniques. |
Module Delivery |
---|
This module will be delivered online with recorded lecture material and introductory online classes. Further support will be provided through forum posts and students will be allocated a supervisor relevant to their topic choice. |
