Aims of Module
The module aims to develop students' understanding of the context of international business and its environment; international business strategies and operations and the internationalisation of the firm.

Learning Outcomes for Module
On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:
1 Describe and explain various approaches to the conduct of international business
2 Explain the processes of firm internationalisation
3 Describe and compare how the business environments of countries influence the operational style and approach of international firms
4 Understand how changing international trade patterns and globalisation influence the patterns of international business.

Indicative Module Content
National Differences in Political Economy; ethics in international business; foreign direct investment; regional economic integration; the organisation of international business; entry strategies and strategic alliances; exporting, importing, and countertrade; the internationalisation process; modes of operation in the international firm.
