Practical and Professional
The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, the second largest school in the University, is located within the city centre campus. The Acting Head of School is Professor Donald Cairns.
The school has an impressive portfolio of seven courses accredited or approved by professional bodies. These include the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, the Forensic Science Society, the Nutrition Society and the Health Professions Council. This is just one of the reasons why graduates from the school are in such high demand from employers.
Multidisciplinary
The School is multidisciplinary, with students benefiting from interactions across a range of subject areas – biomedical sciences, analytical and medicinal chemistry, forensic science, nutrition and dietetics, pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences. To facilitate this more easily, plans are underway to move the school into a purpose-built, multi-million pound facility at RGU's Garthdee Campus by 2013.
