HR @ RGU is for YOU
We believe that our vision has to be aligned to that of the University and therefore the HR team's ambition is,
"To deliver for RGU the objectives of A Clear Future through a people strategy that will position RGU and an employer of choice.
To achieve this we aim to offer:
- Effective leadership and management
- Interesting and challenging work
- Opportunities for personal development and growth
- Opportunities for personal career progression
- Fair reward
The University and the HR team have agreed five strategic priorities:
- To ensure we have an appropriate workforce that is financially sustainable through effective workforce planning, resourcing strategies, and the development of appropriate reward mechanisms
- To ensure that individual and organisational effectiveness is optimised through implementing planned change processes, leadership/team development at all levels, and training of our employees to ensure that we develop a workforce that is truly orientated to our priorities
- To ensure that leadership and management practice aligns with the leadership behaviours matrix we have agreed, by taking forward our agreed leadership and management development strategy
- To maintain occupational health and safety governance and management that ensure that RGU is legally compliant, has systems appropriate to our environment and that ensure the environment we provide is free from unmanaged risks to the health, safety and welfare of our students, staff, visitors and the public
- To maintain industrial and employee relations infrastructure and management arrangements that are appropriate to our environment, and ensure that our relations with our staff and campus trade unions are managed effectively
Ultimately, we believe that this is only achievable if we have:
- a modern organisational shape which is flexible, responsive and adds value to the students' learning experience.
- recruitment and retention of appropriately qualified and talented HR people who can bring with them their own experiences and, in turn, can experience interesting and challenging work.
- a balance between HR 'generalists' and 'specialists' who understand the learning environment.
- modern and reliable information systems to inform decision making.
- modern and reliable transactional processes, so that the main HR resource can focus on 'added value' activity in the learning environment.
All of the above will be underpinned by the HR Team Shared Values of :
- Contribution: To be proactive and add value to the Organisation
- Collaboration: To work together with our clients to understand their needs and deliver shared solutions
- Quality: To provide a professional and effective service in a consistent and timely manner
