We endeavor to process your application as quickly as possible. However, please allow 5-10 working days for processing.

Robert Gordon University reserves the right to cancel a Short Course if necessary, due to low enrolment numbers. However, students will be offered the opportunity to book on to a selection of other courses or provided with a refund for courses that have been cancelled. We will endeavour where possible to notify students by the 18th September if any course is cancelled. No course can be undertaken by any student unless payment has been received.

Terms, Conditions and Policies

By submitting this form, you agree to and will abide by:

PAYMENT: Your course fees must be received by Friday 13 September 2019 at 16:00pm (with the exception of the Portfolio courses where payment must be received by 30 August 2019) prior to the commencement of the Short Course programme. No course can be undertaken by any student unless payment has been received.

RGU REGISTRATION: All students should be made aware that on submission of this booking form RGU is notified that you have accepted a contract of enrolment. (In order to attend short courses all students must register and accept RGU's TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION AND ENROLMENT). You have the right to cancel this contract with us. You must notify the University of your decision to cancel in writing via email to The cancellation period will expire at the end of 14 days after the University fully accepts your application of enrolment.

WITHDRAWALS: Please inform Gray's School of Art via email to if you are withdrawing your course, or are not able to return due to illness supported by medical certificate. Any student absent for more than 4 weeks consecutively will be contacted by the school. Should no explanation of absence be given, RGU will withdraw you from the course.


Students should be aware at the time of booking that (out with the statutory 14 day cancellation period) there is no automatic right to cancel and there will be no refund of fees.

You will lose your statuary right to cancel if the course has commenced during the 14 day cancellation period. With direct acknowledgement that the course may start during the cancellation period and that cancellation rights are lost once the course has been fully completed.

Student cancellations prior to 14 days of the course commencing will receive a refund of fees paid less an administration fee of £30 to cover the administration costs for the cancellation or offer to transfer this credit to another course where appropriate.

Refunds for a student cancellation in the 14 days prior to the course commencing are only applicable where there has been illness and there is a medical certificate to support it. On receipt of a medical certificate the student will receive a refund of fees paid less an administration fee of £30 to cover the administration costs for the cancellation.

Refunds for student cancellation once the course has commenced are only applicable where the student is not able to return due to illness and there is a medical certificate to support it. On receipt of a medical certificate the student will receive a refund of fees paid less any classes attended and an administration fee of £30 to cover the administration costs for the cancellation. Refunds are not available should you have a change in circumstances that makes continued attendance at the course difficult, or additional responsibilities that affect time commitment to study. Students should consider both their availability and commitments carefully at the time of booking.

Refunds will be made without undue delay, usually within two weeks and not any later than 42 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel the contract.

Any reimbursement by international bank transfer we include a deduction of bank charges encountered. Any reimbursement by post will include a deduction of postage and packaging costs.

Robert Gordon University reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a Short Course if necessary. Reasons for this may be due to (but not restricted to) low enrolment numbers, weather warnings, emergency maintenance and staff absence. Students will be offered a place on an alternative date or course. If an alternative course fee is less you will be refunded the difference. If the alternative course fee is more you will be asked to make payment on the outstanding fee. If no alternative Short Course dates are suitable, a full refund will be processed. RGU will endeavour where possible to notify students of a course cancellations within 14 days of a course commencing.

In the unlikely circumstance of attendance to class prior to payment having been complete followed by a decision to discontinue the course you will be liable for the payment of the class attended in addition to the administration fee of £30 within 7 working days.

DEFERMENT: It is not possible to support deferment requests for 40/60hr winter students as deferment runs into a new academic and financial year.

POSTPONEMENT: We may be required to postpone a course at short notice. In the unlikely circumstance that a class is postponed an additional class will be added on within the two course semesters. In most cases this class is added sequentially to the semester effected. Students should consider this possibility when noting their course dates.

ADDITIONAL COURSE COSTS: Please refer to your course materials list on the website. Any course materials provided are for small scale test and development work only. Any student wishing to develop large or extensive work must seek prior approval from the course lecturer and appropriate technician. This will incur an additional cost for materials. Any materials purchased prior to the course commencing are invested in at the students own risk. Students attending courses providing a life model will not receive any additional resource by way of materials provided.

If required, we strongly advise students to organise the appropriate insurance cover for any travel or accommodation booking purchased prior to a course commencing. Please note these associated bookings are in no way the responsibility of the university and will not be reimbursed upon cancellation of the course by RGU and are therefore made at the student’s own risk.

MARKETING: Professional photographs of selected work and students to be taken for use in Short Course marketing. Out of courtesy wherever practical students are notified of intentions to take film or photos within the school. PARKING: Weekend and evening parking on campus if free for RGU students. WINTER Wednesday afternoon parking: Due to the exceptional demand for permits from current staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the limited availability of parking facilities on campus RGU’s Transport department are unable to issue any temporary permits to Short Course students for winter Wednesday afternoon classes. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Any student requiring a VISA to remain in the UK will need to provide a copy of their passport and VISA to the Student Immigration Team, prior to enrolment on the Short Course.
