Printing
Currently provided as part of the service offered by Graphics and Printing, highly skilled operators will produce quality full colour printing on our
Heidelberg GTO 4 colour and 2 colour presses while single colour work is produced on our Heidelberg GTO single colour press. In addition the department boasts the first installation in the North-East of the Presstek Computer To Plate system. The Dimension platesetter, using thermal imaging technology, maximises the efficiency of CTP by eliminating all of the steps, chemicals and materials associated with film-based imaging and many of those associated with other CTP processes.
The Canon CLC9070 and CLC5151 colour digital production devices offer our customers the option of hard copy scanning, digital input, electronic submission, print ready storage and finishing in a single product.
All work is controlled and checked to meet our customers deadlines and quality expectations.
Using dedicated hardware and machinery our experienced printers are able to produce full-colour printed documentation to a very high standard.
Digital Printing
The Canon IR7105 photocopying machines are capable of producing short and long run digital black and white copies via the network ( orderform@rgu.ac.uk ) or from hard copy at low cost. We can provide single or double sided copies from your originals or from artwork generated by us, onto a range of coloured paper and card. The new equipment offers our customers the option of hard copy scanning, digital input, electronic networking, print ready storage and finishing in a single product.
We can also provide single or double sided A3 and A4 size full colour copies from your originals or from artwork generated by us.
Customers are responsible for ensuring all copyright clearances have been obtained prior to placing orders for services.
Finishing
The black and white and full colour copying mentioned above can be collated, folded, drilled and bound in a number of different ways:
- glue binding
- wiro-binding
- comb binding
- single staple
- double staple
If you are not sure which method you would like or which would be most appropriate for your job please contact the department to discuss your requirements. We also specialise in binding theses/reports to academic regulation and have the capability of laminating up to A1 size.
Print Brokerage
In the event of Graphics and Printing not being able to produce your document completely in-house we will obtain competitive quotes from reputable and approved printers, notify you of this and project-manage the production for you.
The School or Department will subsequently pay for the use of any external suppliers involved in producing their requirements.
