Professional Anthropometry Training Course
Organiser: Dr Arthur Stewart, ISAK Criterion Anthropometrist
Measuring up
Anthropometry is the science of acquiring dimensional measurements of the human body, and standardising the way this is done ensures reliability and enables health, nutrition and sports professionals to be effective in their jobs. The International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) runs training and examination courses in over 40 countries, and RGU has hosted these since 2005. Dr Arthur Stewart, deputy director of CORE, and also ISAK vice-president, regularly organises 4-day courses at St Andrew Street for health professionals. These courses also provide CORE with an opportunity to showcase its facilities for body image analysis, body composition using the BODPOD system, and the 3D whole body laser scanner.
