The RGU: ENERGY CENTRE is a new initiative by The Robert Gordon University to provide for industry a focal point for the development and deployment of all accredited learning material related to the oil and gas, and renewable industries. The main objective of the Energy Centre is to build on RGU's reputation for producing graduates who are able to make an early impact on the performance of their companies. The Energy Centre, co-located with the School of Engineering at RGU's Schoolhill campus, was started in January 2005 and was launched at Offshore Europe 2005 by Sir Ian Wood, chairman of the Wood Group. Potential clients for these courses include individuals who are interested in conversion to the oil and gas industry or who are pursuing further specialisation in this area in order to improve their career prospects.
For its Business-to-Business initiatives, the Energy Centre works closely with Univation, the commercial arm of RGU which deals with marketing and sales for corporate clients. The Energy Centre will focus initially on the oil and gas industry but in the near future the scope will expand to include renewable energy.
