Applied Optoelectronics Research Centre
As part of the Centre for Energy and Environment the Applied Optoelectronics Research Centre undertakes a range of research and development projects for industrial, governmental and charitable bodies. The research is usually applied in nature and often involves developing systems for use in real environments, rather than the laboratory. The centre has extensive experience of designing and building systems for deployment in the North Sea, by far the largest area of activity is development of laser/optical based sensors. Sensors are currently being developed for physical, biomedical and chemical applications.
