Study Skills and Access Unit

We exist to encourage all existing and potential learners to achieve their full potential. Combining Study Support, Access and English Language Services, we aim to promote and support equality of access to higher education, and to help learners develop the skills required for success in the contemporary educational environment.

These invaluable resources are designed to promote independent learning; with specialist tutors offering individual, group and workshop sessions that teach and reinforce the skills that individuals need to achieve their full potential in their time with this University. These services are offered free of charge to registered Students.

College Links

We aim to look beyond the traditional scope of University admission. Some college HN courses provide alternative routes into higher education for those who do not possess standard entry qualifications, with entry to Year 2 or above of certain degree courses.

Disability and Dyslexia Service

The Disability and Dyslexia Service provides advice and support to students who have study needs relating to a disability, medical condition or specific learning difficulty such as Dyslexia. On top of this the service provides advice and support to staff to help them, in turn, support their students effectively.
