English Language Support for International Students
Insessional courses
All students are expected to have reached a certain standard in English before beginning to study at Robert Gordon University. We do understand, however, that some students may need additional help with English for Academic Purposes. Free English language for International Students is therefore offered throughout the year.
Classes are held on a regular basis at different campuses, or you could attend individual tutorials. The courses are linked as much as possible to the student's own field of study. Particular emphasis is placed on the skills necessary to write academic texts and cope with authentic, spoken English in an academic context.

Year-round one-to-one support
International students already enrolled at the University can make individual appointments to see the language tutor for further help with specific areas of their English language skills. E-mail tutoring is also available.
Please note that we are not currently able to provide a proof-reading service for coursework and dissertations.
English Language Pre-Sessional Programmes
If you do not have the required level of English to start your degree course, you may wish to complete an intensive course of English language to increase your level. The University can arrange an appropriate English language course in Aberdeen, through the Pre-Sessional Programme.
