Overview of Research
Aberdeen Business School offers a supportive and stimulating research environment. Research activities underpin our teaching and further enhance the quality and relevance of our courses. The School undertakes a wide range of externally funded research projects. In the 2008 RAE a considerable amount of our research, across the departments, was determined to be either at the level of 'International Excellence' or internationally recognised in terms of its originality, significance and rigour.
Research is an integral part of the university's purpose, covering the key research themes of the Creative Industries, Health and Welfare, Energy and the Environment and Knowledge Economy. Academic depth and intellectual activity associated with the advancement of knowledge are part of the focus of RGU to "provide a professional education based on leading edge teaching and research within a supportive learning environment".
As part of our committment to furthering research we welcome enquiries from candidates who are considering studying for a PhD or professional doctorate and who want to find out more about what Research Degree Opportunities are available.
